Introducing New Varieties to Increase Garlic Production and Determining Its Economic Feasibility in Toba Regency

Abstract Garlic is one of the vegetable commodities whose demand increasing in tandem with total population. Until now, national production this commodity unable to meet demand. In addition import strategy, local government attempting implement an extensification strategy (by cultivation area) address issue. One actions introduction two garlic varieties, Lumbu Hijau and Sangga Sembalum. From August December 2020, study was carried out Gurgur Experimental Garden, Tampahan Sub District (Toba Regency). The goals are determine suitability these varieties based on their vegetative generative performances, as well conduct a cost-benefit analysis. results show that variety outperforms Sembalun terms growth production. There statistically insignificant difference between plant height number leaves, but there significant stem height. According B/C ratio analysis, has 1.26 more shares than 0.84, respectively.
